We have also been watching a little Danish show called, "Jul i Svinget" by request of our Danish Teacher. It is aired every night from December 1st until Christmas Eve. It is pretty cute and a fun little Christmas thing to watch in the evenings :o)

Countdown to Christmas
Advent Candles are a huge tradition here at Christmas time. The last one we lit was Christmas of 2004 in Lubbock. Klaus had given it to us along with an æbleskiver pan. Typically they are tall with the numbers going down the candle. You light it and burn it each night until it burns down to the following days number.

This year we found some really cute ones. They aren't tall but are individual little square lights with numbers. It has been fun to light them and watch them burn the past two days.

We love all the cute little block candles. It is a nice tradition for a countdown til Christmas! We also recognize the cuddly boy and girl! Happy days!
Mads' mom bought me an advent LOTTO calendar!! So I am scratching off those boxes one day at a time and I may be a millionaire for Christmas!!! lol
Those are so neat!!!
My sister and I send each other fabric advent calendars that have teeny tiny presents tied to rings that are sewn onto the fabric. The trick is to find presents that are not too heavy. For my kids I go to the art gallery or Danish delicatessen and buy advent calendars with pictures (not chocolate ones anymore since the dog ate last year's !)
Next year we'll probably get a "kalenderlys" for Viggo.
The individual candles you have are a nice way to update the conventional candle!
I'll have to see "Jul i Svinget" soon. We have been so tired since we got back that we haven't been watching any tv.
